Will the single applicant be disadvantaged in the application for immigration to Canada as a skilled worker?
Q. It seems that one can earn more points in the application for skilled worker immigration if the principal applicant's partner has good job experience, qualification and/or education, so I wonder if the single applicant like me will be disadvantaged?

A. I am single and I took the "points" for Canada citizenship.. I had a total of 34...I need 87.. So, I think they do discriminate.. U get like 20 or so points if ur spouse is qualified or u have family that lives there.. They don't want US citizens to have to live on their welfare system and being married helps a person not to have to do that (or quailfy).. I was told I could go to school there for 2 years...get a degree and then get a job , then after I work at LEAST 1 year, I might be eligible..depending on the career I choose...If I had $80,000 to go to school there, it would be no problem.. (I can't get aid)..So, yes.

REGULAR SKILLED WORKER APPLICATION?
Q. I am applying for PR under regular skilled worker category. In the fourth page of Background/Declaration (Schedule 1) , under Declaration column, they need the sign of Candian Government official. Is it mandatory to take signature as it is written " do not complete the following section now". Can anyone help me regarding this doubt. Thanks

A. Contact Australian immigration in your country for advice. It's actually illegal for anyone except a qualified Australian government officer, a registered migration agent or a close family member to give advice on how to complete immigration forms.

A. Up to 25 months if you are from the US -- 75 months for some countries. Here's a chart to figure it out, depending on where you are applying from: (Those 6 -24 months waits in the US no longer seem quite so out of line when you compare them to immigration waits in other countries.)

What are the application forms for couples to immigrate to Canada?
Q. My fiance and I are planning to immigrate to Canada together. He will apply through Skilled Worker application, and I will apply as his dependent since I have fewer points than he does. What are the application forms that we will need? Also, both of us are originally from mainland China , and have been living in the United States for almost ten years for school and work. So the question is: should we choose Simplified Skilled Worker application or Regular Skilled Worker application so that the application process will shorter.

A. to move to Canada as a spouse of a Skill worker you do not need to get married. What you need to do is to prove that you lived together for 1 year together/ Bills, rent agreements, car insurance ,letter of friends, etc etc. You have to ad your name to his application.

Can I work in Singapore while I have a pending immigrant application in Canada?

A. I see no reason why working in Singapore should affect your Canadian application. Why not try out the job in Singapore and see if it suits you. Your employer in Singapore should get the correct work permit for you to work in Singapore. P.S> Someone else has asked about working in Singapore and the answers I given should interest you. Can I appeal against a decision made by CIC on my SW application. They refuse me by 2 points.Needed 67 got 65 ?
Q. I received letter from Canadian Embassy that they are refusing my Skilled worker application on the basis that i got 65 instead of 67. I submitted IELTS test results, in which i got overall 7 band, but in listening i got 6.5, thats why i lose 2 points there, Apart from that i submitted additional document explaining that i am studying in UK from 2003, and thats why i claim maximum points in English, but i think they did not even look at it, just try to finish there work quickly & did not called for interview, and after 3 years of waiting, they made a negative decision. I want to ask is there any way i can appeal against that decision ? Any help will be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

A. I am American in Canada. Have you gotten the two letters from the government yet that talks about your status? Everything is kinda slow right now, I hope your not using an immigration lawyer in Quebec because that's a big mistake. Have you already checked your status online? 1-888-242-2100 is the call center for Immigration. If you have questions let me know.

Q. I received a letter from the canadian embassy that they received my application after 4 months and the letter has the receipt of my preliminary payment. but i know there will be another "processing fee" to pay. but i havent submitted my documents or supporting papaers yet. anyone can advise me if do i have to wait for the embassy to contact me again or send another letter or does that mean they are already processing my papers?

A. You've applied under the Simplified Application Process. You've just gotten your place in the queue with your AOR and file number (don't lose that). At this time they are not processing your application. When they are ready, they will ask you to submit your supporting documents. If you look at the link below, you'll see that the wait is about 5 years. Until you receive a letter requesting your documents, only update them if you change your contact information. In the meantime, keep track of the information you need to fill out the rest of the application forms.

Once you are granted a highly skilled worker (tier 1) visa for the UK, how long can you postpone entry into th?
Q. I have the option to post an advance date for the visa during the application process, but what if I need to delay use of the visa further. How much time does it take for the visa to expire when it is not used immediately?
Asked by Femme M - Fri Jun 12 20:37:51 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. You need to enter within 3 months of receiving the visa if you have not applied in advance for an extension of 3 months. But that's it. If you don't enter, your visa becomes invalid as it needs to be stamped by immigration at your UK point of entry to be valid. I actually had to buy a ticket to fly to the UK earlier than expected just to get my visa stamped because it was going to take me a bit more than 3 months to physically move to the UK.

A. Regarding a skilled-worker application for PR status: "A CIC officer will make the final decision on the application you submit to a Visa Office. Make sure you fill out the application forms completely. You will need to provide documents to support your application and, if selected, to pass medical and security checks." There isn't an appeal process. You're done. You would have to develop the necessary points (through whatever means) and re-apply. And hope that there wasn't something else that triggered the refusal.

Can people's Immigration Application to Canada be denied for any reason even if they meet all requirements?
Q. I'm just curious if people's immigration applications to canada be denied for like no reason at all, even if they meet every single requirement? I've heard some stories when people get denied or delayed for little things. Forgetting to add a document to the application, not complete forms and so on. But if somone meets every requirement for the application, whether it be a spouse sponorship, skilled worker, etc...they have no criminal record and so on, are they guaranteed to be approved?

How long does it take for Australians to get approved to immigrate to Canada under the skilled workers program
Q. We are Australian and have submitted an application to immigrate to Canada under the skilled workers program. The Canada consulate have advised it will take a minimum of 13 months to be approved. We want to know if anyone has apply for this visa and how long it took. Thank you.

A. It is quite difficult to get in through the skilled workers program but if it is successfull the it can take up to 12 months. I am getting married to a Canadian and my visa is going to take 6 months...so it is a long time. In England we have a student program called BUNAC...and the Canadians have one called SWAP which is a student based program that lets you work in a foreign country on a working holiday visa...I don't know if you guys have anything like that that might be worth looking into...but I guess you have payed all of your fees already right?! I think the consulate do give you about the right Length of time to expect to wait but it may be sooner just depending if they are busy at that time or not! Good luck guys!
