A. If your spouse has an IELTS score of 5 that was taken within the last 12 months, you will not need to pay a second instalment. All you will need to pay is a single AUD$2525 first instalment which covers both of you. Here are the rules about liability to pay second instalments:

Q. I am applying for PR under regular skilled worker category. In the fourth page of Background/Declaration (Schedule 1) , under Declaration column, they need the sign of Candian Government official. Is it mandatory to take signature as it is written " do not complete the following section now". Can anyone help me regarding this doubt. Thanks

A. Contact Australian immigration in your country for advice. It's actually illegal for anyone except a qualified Australian government officer, a registered migration agent or a close family member to give advice on how to complete immigration forms.

What are the application forms for couples to immigrate to Canada?
Q. My fiance and I are planning to immigrate to Canada together. He will apply through Skilled Worker application, and I will apply as his dependent since I have fewer points than he does. What are the application forms that we will need? Also, both of us are originally from mainland China , and have been living in the United States for almost ten years for school and work. So the question is: should we choose Simplified Skilled Worker application or Regular Skilled Worker application so that the application process will shorter.

A. to move to Canada as a spouse of a Skill worker you do not need to get married. What you need to do is to prove that you lived together for 1 year together/ Bills, rent agreements, car insurance ,letter of friends, etc etc. You have to ad your name to his application.

Q. I have just reached Canada on a student Visa, can I start my application for becoming a skilled worker if I make the cut off points of 67?
Asked by ryan - Thu Aug 13 00:52:50 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. NO you are not yet eligible if you do apply CIC will deny your application - becasue you are NOT YET eligible After you graduate, you can get a post-grad work permit and work for a few years. After ONE year of working on this work permit, THEN you are eligible to apply to immigrate. BUT you must continue working on the work permit while the application is being processed.

A. Prior to recent changes to Skilled Worker applications, it wasn't uncommon to wait several years to completion. Your friend could drive himself crazy second guessing exactly what the letter means! It could be that they are notifying him that the application is now finally being processed by an officer/agent and this is his last chance to cancel the application with a full refund. His letter will have a client ID number near the top of the page and he can use that to look on E-Client on the CIC website. How long does it take to get PR under new canadian immigration law under skilled worker?
Q. I need to know about the new canadian immigration law which states that Federal Skilled worker who fall under NOC could immigrate in 6-12 months. I need to know if any one applied under this new law and got a response for the same. If yes, How long does it takes to get a case file number from CIC. And any clue how long does the entire process takes? that is, from sending the first application to getting the PR approved.
Asked by jyotsna b - Tue Mar 17 12:07:56 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The 6-12 months is their goal. How long it will take them to reach that goal, nobody knows. They applied the new rules to applications since the end of February 2008 but they did not actually post the new rules until the end of November resulting in 9 months worth of applications sitting around when they started to process them which makes it unlikely that they will reach that 6-12 months goal just yet. Should be faster than the 6-7 years that it used to take from some countries though.

Does the previous earnings has to be 20K prior to apply for the Tier 2 Skilled worker visa?
Q. My son who is a post study worker, visa expiring 2010, is looking into getting his employer to sponsor him for a Tier 2 Skilled Worker visa. I have been made to understand that prior to his application his previous earnings has to be 20K, with no resitrictions on multiple jobs and no of hours worked. I have gone through the UKBA website but I am unable to confirm this.

A. No, I think 20K is the amount of money he has to make in his new job in the UK. When you apply you are awarded points based on your: * qualifications; * future expected earnings; * sponsorship; * English language skills; and * available maintenance (funds).

A. If you immigrate to Canada under the Federal skilled worker program, if you qualify and are accepted, they give you a visa that lasts a year from the date of the medical to enter canada. Once you enter Canada on that visa in that time period, you become a permanent resident and can do anything you want without the need to extend. The only thing you'd have to take care of is that you live in Canada at least 2 out of every 5 years and that you stay out of trouble and that you make sure you renew your permanent resident card before it expires if you want to be able to travel and come back. Other than that, you can keep your permanent resident status forever and apply for the fire services in every province as many times as you like. … [cont.]

Q. I have the option to post an advance date for the visa during the application process, but what if I need to delay use of the visa further. How much time does it take for the visa to expire when it is not used immediately?
Asked by Femme M - Fri Jun 12 20:37:51 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. You need to enter within 3 months of receiving the visa if you have not applied in advance for an extension of 3 months. But that's it. If you don't enter, your visa becomes invalid as it needs to be stamped by immigration at your UK point of entry to be valid. I actually had to buy a ticket to fly to the UK earlier than expected just to get my visa stamped because it was going to take me a bit more than 3 months to physically move to the UK.

My friend had applied for Canadian Federal skilled worker from his country about 2 year ago and this week he received a letter from Canadian Embassy that if he wants refund of his Fed Skilled worker application he can get it if applied for it now or within 90 days of this letter. what does this letter mean ? ( in terms of processing his application) Because the letter says no refund after 90 days from date of letter - Does that mean they will process his application after 90 days ???

A. The letter says they are about to start processing his file and since it's been sitting on a shelf for 2 years, they just want to make sure he hasn't changed his mind. They are graciously offering him that he can get his cash back if he's changed his mind. If he still wants to immigrate to Canada, he doesn't have to do anything and they will continue to process his file and he will not be able to get a refund if he changes his mind later. Processing his file may still take months after they start working on it so it's not like in 90 days, he'll magically be approved. It might happen fast, might not.

Canada immigration application - can you make changes to your application without starting over?
Q. I have applied under the Skilled Worker Class (in London, UK) and I have received a confirmation that my application has been received. Unfortunately, I've just realised that I used the wrong Code for my current job. Is there anyway I can correct it while my application is in the process? Also I have more points now than I had at the time of applying. What can I do so the system updates my application?

A. You dont need to start over, but if you have been given a client number then write a letter to the processing centre and make clear what you wish to fix up. You cannot add new experience to the application. What you wrote is what you get processed on. If they do deny you for lack of points then you MUST appeal and add the new experience to improve the points.
