A. The list is on this page where you can see the points that are given for each occupation. You will also be able to look at the assessing authority next to your occupation who will be able to give you information about the experience that you need as well as a qualification.

Can Skilled nursing facilities directly refer patients to Board and Care homes?
Q. A patient is in a skilled nursing facility and they do not need to be there but can not go home. Can a Skilled nursing refer/recommend a certain Board and Care Home?
Asked by Donna B - Fri Nov 13 11:22:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. yes...they can make a referral; however, the SNF cannot transfer the patient without the patient's or responsible family member's approval. The patient and/or family member should be in touch with the social worker at the Skilled nursing facility for assistance.

Is a floor installer considered a skilled profession to get a permanent visa to live and work in Canada?

A. A floor installer is not considered a skilled profession for Canadian Immigration. Skilled workers are people whose skills are in short supply, like medical doctors. Floor installers are not in short supply in Canada, and therefore your husband cannot qualify.

How long should it take us to receive a Regional Skilled Migration Visa to Australia?
Q. We just mailed our skills assessment and expect to receive a good result. We will be moving to either Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia, or Victoria, in one of the wine regions. We are hoping to purchase a vineyard/orchard/bed and breakfast accommodation and manage it ourselves. We are applying for the skilled regional visa rather than the business owner's visa to give us more flexibility in employment. Any suggestions?

A. Hi there, Processing time will depend on a couple on things, e.g. the state you apply to and your nominated occupation. Also, is it the Skilled Independent Regional (SIR) visa or the State / Territory Nominated Independent (STNI) you are applying for? If you are thinking of applying for the SIR are you aware that it is only a temporary residence visa in which case it might be worthwhile investigating your permanent residence options. If you email me your details at answers@visalogic.net I can provide you with more exact information.

How many years work experience in IT for australian skilled migrant visa?
Q. Im 37, Irish, have a degree in IT and work as a Desktop Support Analyst for the last 3 years, about to progress to a Network Support Analyst. What are my chances of getting the Skilled Migrant Visa? Specifically, do I need 3 or 4 years relevant work experience? Thanks!
Asked by El Snookerboots - Fri Dec 18 04:30:18 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on your nominated occupation. If the assessment authority for your nominated occupation is the Australian Computer Society (ACS), you must have a degree with a strong IT major and 4 years professional level experience. If your occupation is assessed by vetassess, then a degree and 1 year's experience is acceptable. Check the ASRI list for the assessing authority for your occupation:

How long does it take to become a permanent resident in Canada for skilled workers?
Q. I am a Filipino nurse who recently submitted an application to CIC to become a permanent resident in Canada under the Skilled Workers Immigration path. This week I received their reply and said that I am for further assessment so I am required to pass other requirements to the Canadian embassy here in the Philippines. Upon passing the other documents, how long will it take for me to become an immigrant because I heard that because of the new law, it only takes 6-12 months... Is it true?
Asked by Esperanza J - Sun Apr 26 07:36:25 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. No its not true, eaach person is looked at differerntly. Its a case-by-case anaylzation. Thats like saying, if everyone in the philipines are applying to canada and the canada embassy used one prediticion of how long ti will take to process, eg. 14mnths, then everyone would be graded the same. But each person isnt the same, noone has the same background, family as you. So each person's case is different. Because its case-by-case, it takes longer to process. they have to check for fradulent documents, they have to asset everthing, and since you missed doctuments, it will now take longer because they have to reasses. I would just wait a while. They are backed up too. If it's been over a year, then try contacting. But it shouldnt be too… [cont.]

Is it possible for someone who is not skilled to emigrate to New Zealand?

A. You could try the agricultural route. This is generally set up for an exchange of vets but, they did do schemes for labourers. They have massive sheep farms over there ;) However as mentioned above they have tightened their borders like any good government that runs an island would do.

How long does it take for Australians to get approved to immigrate to Canada under the skilled workers program
Q. We are Australian and have submitted an application to immigrate to Canada under the skilled workers program. The Canada consulate have advised it will take a minimum of 13 months to be approved. We want to know if anyone has apply for this visa and how long it took. Thank you.

A. It is quite difficult to get in through the skilled workers program but if it is successfull the it can take up to 12 months. I am getting married to a Canadian and my visa is going to take 6 months...so it is a long time. In England we have a student program called BUNAC...and the Canadians have one called SWAP which is a student based program that lets you work in a foreign country on a working holiday visa...I don't know if you guys have anything like that that might be worth looking into...but I guess you have payed all of your fees already right?! I think the consulate do give you about the right Length of time to expect to wait but it may be sooner just depending if they are busy at that time or not! Good luck guys!

How do you build roads, bridges, and overpasses without highly skilled construction workers?
Q. ??? Inspired by: "Criteria can be set so that the money does go to others, the long term unemployed minorities, women, people who are not necessarily construction workers or high-skilled professionals." You do need skilled workers on road construction - you need carpenters, masoners, and other skilled trades - obviously not to be flag-wavers but for other positions.

A. Thats a bad idea...and the answer to your question is...You dont. Its these bridges and roads that collapse on people and kill hundreds. Non skilled workers should go back to flipping burgers and making french fries, leave science for the engineers.

I want to immigrate to Australia as I have a skilled occupation?
Q. However to qualify for the visa myself and my partner have qualifications on the skilled occupation list. Can we add these together on the points test? Or will it benefit us in any way having a qualification each?
Asked by Cady - Wed Jul 1 16:32:22 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You will not be able to combine your points unfortunately. However if both of you have a skilled occupation you should have to main applicant as the more experienced and more qualified person. The other partners qualification can give an extra 5 points for towards the points test used to determine your eligibility.

A. 5. Calculate your fees. You will have to pay the following fees: The processing fee for you and your dependants must be paid when you apply. It is not refundable, even if your application is not approved. WAIT until your application is processed to pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee for you and your accompanying spouse or common-law partner, if applicable. It must be paid before Citizenship and Immigration Canada issues your permanent resident visa. This fee is refundable if you cancel your application, if your application is not approved, or if you do not use your visa. You will also have to pay fees to third parties for: your medical examination a police certificate, if you require one as part of your criminal and security… [cont.]

Who is the most SKILLED center in NBA history?
Q. While a case could be made for Shaq being the most dominant center, few would argue that he is or was the most skilled. Based on nothing but pure ability and skill set (not rings), who is the best and why?

A. Skilled? Man I can't believe no one said Dream!!! Dream had moves on top of moves! He murdered Ewing in the 93-94 finals. Then he destroyed Shaq! the next year! At a time when the NBA had some great bigmen, the DREAM beat them all with "skill" not size.
