Beach.................... ....?
Q. In a few weeks, I'm going to the beach on vacay. Any suggestions on clothing? (Links?) Also, how should I do my hair!? Should I take the time to straighten it every night after swimming? (It only takes about a half hour.) It's up to my collarbone and I have sidebangs. Thanks!

A. Scrunch your hair or let it air-dry. It looks fun and summery. Straighting it so much will just damage it a lot.. so no to that.. And if you go to the beach early in the day then you'd just have to re-straighten... And truthfully no one really cares, most people at the beach realize hair isn't going to cooperate.

What is the best beach to visit in the Pawleys Island area for a family with a toddler?
Q. My husband and I are taking our 17 month-old to Pawleys Island, SC next week and I was wondering what the best beach was in the area. I'm looking for a nice, clean beach with not a lot of traffic. Also, we are staying about 2 miles from the ocean so it would be nice to have a parking area near the beach. Any suggestions?
Asked by Lovely Lady - Tue Jun 22 10:18:05 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I've never been to Pawleys Island, but if it's anything like Kiawah Island, (further south) then you're in luck. Three Best Beaches reports that Kiawah has gentle sloping sand so there isn't a big drop off. Looks like plenty of beach, too. There are pictures and video on the site. Hope this helps.

How many beach balls do you think will be thrown into Reina's goalmouth on Sunday?
Q. I hear the Liverpool online store is sold out (and many other beach-ball selling stores). I was at the game when thousands of mars bars came onto the pitch when Gazza came back to Newcastle with Spurs and I think the same thing could happen. Serious question: Can beach balls be classed as offensive weapons if thrown onto the pitch?

A. realistically, none. several will try to but the second they're inflated the stewards will take them. they took a few before the fulham v hull match tonight. imagine the amount at anfield. that lad that put it there probably got the sh!t kicked out of him all weekend i don't think they're offensive weapons. anyone who gets hurt because a beach ball hit them must be a diver worse than drogba and ronaldo combined

What do different Europeans wear in beach cities?
Q. I am wondering what the trends are in different European cities. What do young men and women wear on the beach, while walking around beach-front shops and restaurants, on the boardwalk (if they have those?) and around town in European beach cities? Thanks.
Asked by -- - Fri Aug 28 13:33:16 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Every country and every region has its own rules and regulations about what to wear and what not to wear so... generally sandals, shorts and shirts for men, skirt, blouse/bikini and sandals for women

What beach has the shallowest water surrounding it in the world?
Q. In other words, what beach can you walk, not swim, the farthest away without drowning (assuming you cant swim or float)? Just walking. I assume its in the Caribbean but im not sure.

A. I know Varadero, Cuba has beaches like that. The water is amazing, and I could walk out towards the ocean for what seemed like forever with the water just being half-calf deep.

What beach is the best place to party during the summer?
Q. I don't want places for spring break. I am looking for a beach for me and my friends who are 21. We are looking for a great place to party over the summer and not really a family place. Any suggestions?
Asked by Kim - Tue Dec 9 20:18:35 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In the States, South Padre Island. It's one of the biggest spring break party locations in the US and there's a lot of young people there, very few if any families. Or Ibiza in the Mediterranean, a year round party place. I have a co-worker who is dying to go there. Also, I hear some of the Greek Island beaches are big party places too. My brother-in-law was there, and he said it was pretty crazy.

Do any California beaches allow dogs to walk on the beach?
Q. I want to take my dog to the beach when I go down to LA next week but I've heard that some places like the Santa Monica beach and pier don't allow dogs to walk on the beach. Are there any beaches that do allow dogs to walk around? I'm obviously not from the area so I want some info. Thanks!
Asked by MiM - Mon Aug 13 00:02:45 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes, there's an off-leash dog beach in Huntington and in Long Beach (both in Orange County). There is also a dog beach in San Diego. This one is even farther but I think it's better because the beach itself is farther from the highway. Therefore it's safer for off-leash dogs. Most beaches allow dogs on the boardwalk but not on the sand/surf. There are a few beaches that don't really enforce any policy on dogs, but I don't frequent beaches enough to remember which ones. They're mostly small, local beaches that only the locals know about.

Allan Beach Resort vs. Alberta Beach; What is the best beach in Edmonton? Any others in Edmonton to recommend?
Q. Anyone been to either/both of these? Which would you say is a better beach? Any other beaches within driving distance of Edmonton that you would recommend? Well, the only thing is that I want to make this almost daily, rather than a rare trip once in awhile. Both Allan Beach and Alberta Beach are far enough, so an hour and a half drive is unlikely. But I'll keep it in mind if I ever do go in that direction. Thanks for the answer!

A. Actually, if you can go a little further, go to Sylvan Lake. It's a nice resort beach, but it is pretty busy. But it's beautiful and well worth a trip! It's only about 1.5 hours away (about the same driving distance as Red Deer so great for a day trip).

What is the difference between north and south myrtle beach?
Q. My friend and I are leaving for basically our senior week at myrtle beach, we are going with my parents because they don't trust us enough to let us go to the beach by ourselves. Apparently the place we're staying at is in north myrtle beach, which I heard is full of older people and families. We were hoping to meet people like we did in virgina beach last year and find parties since its senior week, but if its full of families, then i feel like that might not be the case at all.

What are the best strategies for 5v5 beach soccer/ football? How do you organize the team on the field?
Q. I will be coaching a very competent, premier level U-11 Girls soccer team in an upcoming beach soccer tournament. Having never seen the game played at a high level, I am looking for specific tips on how to organize the team, and what the best attacking and defending strategies are in beach soccer... What do the pros or better amateur teams do? Are there any websites dedicated to beach soccer where I can get additional related information? Thank you!

A. play a formation like this gk cb cb cm cf play the ball through the CM, designating him/her as the main playmaker. One of the CBs should be more mobile going forward than the other so keep one back at all times and give the other one some freedom. Play a long ball to the CF in the air quite often if you struggle to keep the ball often, they should be able to lay the ball off to the CM behind them.

What is the beach temp variance from day to night? also, is the beach warmer when it rains?
Q. my friends were having a big debate, so i need some answers so they can stop arguing.. one says the temp of a beach doesnt change, on cold days or at night the beach feels warmer because your body temp is cooler, and visa versa, the other is saying that for some reason unknown to her, the beach temp raises at night and when it rains.. please help!

A. Apparently 'the beach' only variates a few degrees throughout the whole year. Its the air temp which influences our option to swim or not.

What do people classify as beach, near a large body of water near an ocean or something around a lake?

A. I definitely think that a beach can be around any body of water, regardless of its size. Beaches near oceans may be more popularly accepted, especially if you grew up in Florida, but I think a beach can be near any body of water and still hold that classification.

Anybody ever had a small wedding ceremony on a beach?
Q. My girlfriend is from Romania. She will be coming back to the states to be with me and we are planning on getting married. She always talks about the beach and everything. So, I thought maybe we could just go to the local county clerk to get the license, then drive down to the beach and get married. Her family of course is in Romania, so there really won't be anyone from her side of the family, so we are probably going to keep it pretty small. Then maybe after we are married we can travel to Romania and show her family. Any ideas or tips about beach weddings? Thanks.

A. A girlfriend of mine had a beach wedding not so long ago, and let me tell you it was an interesting event! It was very simple- minister along with parents on each side and an additional witness on each side. I suppose these would have been considered a 'bridesmaid' and a groomsman had it been a larger affair. Consider the tide! Especially if you're going to have any 'permanent' fixtures set up for your wedding ceremony. Many people don't consider things like tide and weather, especially if their party is small and casual. Are you having your reception on the beach too? That'd be awesome- maybe a bonfire. My girlfriend and her groom had a large dining table set up, and it was all decked out for this incredible reception dinner. … [cont.]

My girlfriend and her groom had a large dining table set up, and it was all decked out for this incredible reception dinner. … [cont.]

How do you give yourself perfect beach hair without going to the beach?
Q. i love the way my hair looks like after i get back to the beach. its wavy, and messy. but messy in a good way. does anyone know how i can make my hair look like this?

A. I love the first persons answer, but just keep in mind that it will make your hair smell very very salty and just make sure your okay with that! You can also just take a wide barrel curling iron and curl your hair loosly then shake your head and run your fingers back and forth in your hair, or do whatever you want to give it that kind of messy look. You can also just go wild and get it wayy messy (( which is easier )) and then brush through it a little bit.

How is myrtle beach for poor unmaterialistic folks?
Q. I have the option this summer of living in Myrtle Beach, and it sounds pretty fun being in a lively enviornment and being close to cities like DC and boston (I live in the midwest) but from what I've heard it kind of seems like a playground for rich folks. Is there much to do for a girl who isn't into shoes, amusement parks, or spending $7 a beer?

A. MBSC is far from a playground for the rich - it's known as The Redneck Riviera and that's far from "rich folk". In fact, most people here (who live here) earn between $7-10 an hour and work their tail off in the hospitality and retail industries with no hope of ever being "rich". There are "working class" and "professional class" and not much in the middle. To do? Mostly people come here to go to the beach. It doesn't cost anything to go to the beach and lounge around all day. There are plenty of things to do that don't cost major bucks - I usually pay less than a few $ for a beer and more than a few girls I've met here pay nothing for a beer (they use my money). Being close to DC and Boston? There's not an interstate here. … [cont.]
