Believe you cannot obtain a paper credit card application?
Q. I have requested a paper credit card application for my father who would be 86 and would prefer to submit an application by mail. I was told that there was no place online to print the paper application, but paper applications were available from branches. As the closest branch would be a 24 mile round trip I wonder when I call the branch they will use their bulk rate postage to sent an application by mail or insist I drive to the branch? Does this smell of some kind of discrimination against those who choose not to reveal credit card information online?

A. I'm sure if you called the branch and asked them to mail you an application, they'd be happy to do it. It sounds like you may have called the bank's 800 number and I'm surprised they weren't equipped to mail you an application.

How can I get my information TYPED onto a paper application form?
Q. I don't want to print the information in my own writing. I want it to be typed, but no one has a typewriter or word processor anymore! Is there a way to make a form that is on paper into a computer document that I can then type the information and print it out? Thanks.

A. You can scan it, put the scan in the background of a graphic document in any kind of graphic program, and then add text with the program over top of the scan of the form.

when applying to college is it better to send in a paper application or apply to college online?
Q. cause some people say the application is more likely to get lost in the mail but some other people say more likely online, even though most schools take both.
Asked by nycutie - Wed Mar 4 14:41:24 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's much easier to submit the application online. The school will receive it sooner, and you don't have to worry about writing neatly and such. Also, www.commonapp.org allows you to easily submit applications to hundreds of universities, and saves you time since you won't have to repeatedly fill out personal information!

Is it wrong to submit a group paper I completed with my graduate school application?
Q. I wrote a very relevant group paper last year and I think it is an excellent paper. I think it is also very relevant towards my graduate program. My application says that I need to submit a sample of my writing. Because this paper is so relevant, I want to submit it, but it's a group paper. Am I allowed to do this? Honestly though, I wrote most of it!!!
Asked by gemma_ginx - Fri Aug 7 02:17:24 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Since you might not get the chance to explain that it is group work, you might be safer using something that is entirely you're own work. Maybe you could write up an abstract of this paper and submit that. It still shows your writing skills, and your background in the topic, but is entirely your own work.

A. Newspaper jobs are hard to come by. They tend to stay with the same people for quite a while. Regardless of that fact, you can find one by contacting the Newspaper Agency Corporation. Try 801-237-2815 or 801-237-2000. If you can find the district manager for your area that would help as well. Also try mowing lawns in the neighborhood. charge 10 per lawn. Lots of times you can find a client who will have you come back week after week. Thats great. Also, if you dont have access to a lawnmower..consider asking your parents for a loan to buy equipment for your business (a lawnmower) You can probably find a good mower for $100 or less...I've seen them for under 50, but never bought one. The one I have now, I bought used for $85...I think. [cont.]

Can we print the passport application on regular white printer paper?
Q. I will be traveling out of the US in a month and a half or so and need to get my passport. I went to www.travel.state.gov to find out how to go about it, since this is my first time. I read that I can print out the application and then bring it in with me. My question is: "Can we just print the application on regular white printer paper?" According to the webpage it says that the application has to be printed on matte surface paper. Here's the page that states exactly that: So is it okay on regular white printer paper?
Asked by Isaiah's Momma - Thu Dec 14 22:32:12 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes, regular all-purpose white 8 1/2" x 11" printer paper is just fine. It says "matte," so you don't use glossy papers like your standard photo stock. The whole point of filling it out online is so that your answers will be encoded into a 2-D barcode that will print on the left side of the page. Their computers can scan your app, making the process go faster somehow. So use a nice laser printer to make a good clean original printout of your application, and you'll be good to go!

A. No. They won't think of you as seriously. It sounds stupid, but that is how those people think. You have to treat this as if you're applying for a very important job.
