I am getting married May 16, '09!?
Q. The ceremony and reception is going to be held on a ranch. The ceremony will be on the bank of a large pond with alot of beautiful trees surrounding it. The reception is going to be held inside the reception hall they have there. It is a long rectangular building with ALOT of windows (it really brings the outdoors in!!) The hall is a lite brown color with three candle like chandeliers with branches weaving through them. It is soo beautiful! My colors are lite pink with accents in navy blue! Even though it is a rustic venue..I don't want a country rustic wedding but don't want to take away from the breathtaking scenery. Any ideas??

A. Bring the outdoors in!!! Have potted trees brought in for corners and to form an aisle. Be sure they are tall enough to not block views and hang votive cups in the branches with the battery tea lights in them. Check with a local nursery to see about renting them. Also, have a local greenhouse plant flowers that would be found nearby in attractive pots and use them as not only your centerpieces, but as favors for your guests to take a part of your wedding home with them. Since the ceremony is taking place by a pond, can you bring the water with you? Even if not within the hall itself (though a small waterfall could be nice in the lobby maybe), maybe the nursery could set up a small feature outside the windows for effect. You said the… [cont.]

Does this song seem too "country" for a wedding?
Q. I've got my music laid out perfectly from pre-ceremony to after party. I do LOVE the following song- it is sooo fun and different. I just don't know if it fits actual wedding day. We are doing a rustic/french country side theme (which by nature, has a touch of country) and I wonder if this song would take away from the elegance of event and just cast it in a redneck/country light (gross). Just meant in good fun, and it's actually not country- it's bluegrass I think, you know- very Soggy Bottom Boys (remember them from O Brother Where Art Thou) What do you think... maybe rehearsal dinner? (will be a backyard bar-b-q) During the reception, toward the end? Or just leave it out of the mix entirely? I realize my question is posted twice. [cont.]

A. Just have it played at the dance - like at ours, I made sure "White Wedding" was played, and it wouldn't have been appropriate anywhere else!
