Lighting or illumination is the deliberate application of light to achieve some aesthetic or practical effect. Lighting includes use of both artificial light sources such as lamps and natural illumination of interiors from daylight. Daylighting (through windows, skylights, etc.) is often used as the main source of light during daytime in buildings given its low cost. Artificial lighting represents a major component of energy consumption, accounting for a significant part of all energy consumed worldwide. Artificial lighting is most commonly provided today by electric lights, but gas lighting, candles, or oil lamps were used in the past, and still are used in certain situations. Proper lighting can enhance task performance or aesthetics, while there can be energy wastage and adverse health effects of poorly designed lighting. Indoor lighting is a form of fixture or furnishing, and a key part of interior design. Lighting can also be an intrinsic component of landscaping. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Bolts of lights scatter across the sky. Rain falling into the night like tears rolling from my eyes. Lighting flashing into the night sky, as the rain slips down the windows my eyes water again. Thunder rolling in the sky as my shadow of light, bolts and scatters across the sky. I can t see the reason to why my tears keep rolling from my eyes. Like bolts of lightning they disappear into the night. Distance never separates the lighting inside; tears will always roll from my eyes. It s the feeling of letting the lights connect and echo into the sky. Rain slips down my window and falls into a puddle, from the inside it s all fine. Tears roll down my eyes to reflect the memories locked inside. For some the world may never know, the others hear… [cont.] Asked by princess - Fri Apr 4 09:24:45 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Good exercise, now pull the poem out of it. simplify, simplify, simplify. You need to eliminate the redundant language, add some metaphor and simile. the poem can be about you crying without blathering on about "tears" over and over again. for example, "storm clouds, like my eyes, rain relentlessly" or something (although adverbs generally weaken the language). also, half the time you said "lighting" when I thought you meant "lightning". was this intentional? Answered by LEMME ANSWER THAT! - Fri Apr 4 10:15:56 2008 How to get more light out of recessed lighting? Q. I have 6 recessed lights in my basement with white solid (not baffle) trims that are sized for R30 with no space on the sides. I would like for these lights to give off more lighting. I have video taped my daughter walking her first steps and other firsts, (we hang out here most of the time) and it's a bit dark. So, I'm thinking I need more light to get better video/photos. Will replacing the baffles (or whatever you call them) give me more light? If so, will reflective be better than step baffle, etc? Without knowing the size of the max blub u can use in these fixtures which u may want to check, there is also a height adjustment wing nut inside after removing the blub which will allow u to lower the blub for better light spray. see if that will work. also make sure u are using the proper flood blubs in the fixture. Answered by john t - Mon Dec 4 19:44:19 2006 What are the best black lights to use for lighting a large area?
Q. I would like to change over from a "casual" atmosphere to a more "youthful and club-esque" atmosphere after hours at a restaurant. The bar area is roughly 30' x 50'. What would be the best/cost-efficient way to achieve this effect? What types of lighting would you suggest? Asked by Chuck STAR - Wed Mar 17 21:48:25 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Any style of 4' fluorescent. How much coverage will depend on how many fixtures you use. You could paint them the same color as the ceiling to help with the way they will look. Also use a seperate switch for them so they can be on at times you want. Answered by andygroch - Thu Mar 18 11:01:47 2010 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Lighting" See also:
