My husband and I are are looking for an apartment but we've never lived in one before. We've always lived with his mom because she didn't want to live alone. Anyways, what kinds of things should we be aware of when going to these apartments to look at them? It's not like we're going to live there forever but it will be a couple years and I want us to be comfortable and not regret picking any certain one apartment and being stuck in a lease for a year. So tell me what I need to know so I don't choose the wrong apartment. Thanks! Asked by LIL BEAR - Tue Feb 23 15:20:56 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Obviously, make sure that you can afford to pay rent and utilities. Look at closet space, kitchen counter space, bathroom size, and available electrical outlets (all of these things mattered to me - decide what matters to you). If you can, visit at different times throughout the day. Make sure that you feel safe in the neighborhood (drive around after dark and see how you feel as well). Make sure that there's available parking if that's important to you (definitely was to me). Check out several options before you choose. Look at apartments in houses, apartment buildings, townhouses for rent, etc - then you'll see what kind of layout you like. Be wary if a building has multiple units available... it may indicate that management isn't… [cont.] Answered by spalmer - Tue Feb 23 16:08:59 2010 What are the best toy breeds for apartment living? Q. I live in an apartment and I get off work M-F around noon. I know some people think people who work shouldn't have pets, but all pet owners have to work in order to have money to afford their pets! I think my work schedule is pretty nice 4:30am-noon M-F. I have the rest of the day to spend with the pet. However, I do live in an apartment (on the third floor) so I am looking for a dog that is relatively quiet and can do fine by themselves those hours I'm at work. I've contemplated even getting a kitten and a pup at the same time so they can play together. However, I'm not sure that is the best solution. Any ideas on what breed will be okay while I'm at work, is relatively quiet, and is under 10lbs. Does that dog even exist? I've been… [cont.] Asked by bunnyfoofoo - Tue Jan 16 07:53:31 2007 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. Keep in mind small dogs like to pee alot. I have a Yorkie that can't hold it to save his life. Try a cock-a-poo. Or stick to a cat...they can use the litter box...just get it fixed this will reduce the chance of spraying. Answered by Snail - Tue Jan 16 08:02:36 2007 What are some fun to own, yet unique pets that are suitable for apartment living (must be kept in a cage)??
Q. Me and 3 guys are getting an apartment next year for our junior year in college and we really want to get a cool pet that is interesting yet semi-easy to take care of. The pet must be kept in a cage (not 24/7 obviously but at least for when we are not there for classes, sleeping, etc.). Any suggestions?? Pet stores are pretty useless when it comes to hermit crab care. You can handle a hermit crab but for the most party they stay in their crabitat. ( A large glass aquarium) They don't smell and are more active at night just like us students. They sleep most of the day and don't mind if you're gone for long periods of time. You can feed them scraps of most foods so they help with composting. I don't recommend keeping them in your bedroom. You will hear them climbing and playing at 3 am when you're trying to sleep. I should warn you they like to moult during exam times and paper deadlines just to stress us out more. Answered by lioness - Thu May 8 08:05:41 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Apartment Living"
