Can we keep pets in condominium?
Q. Hi. I have three kittens at my unit for 6 months now. They are being kept by me as i saved them from the trash (someone threw them in there when they were newborns) and i have been caring for them eversince. Problem is, recently the security guard told me that there has been a residence complaint. The complaint was that my kitten pooped in his unit. I was thinking it;s rather ridiculous, because theyre in the cage and in the house all the time as i don't allow them to roam the condo. I suspect it was a lie to get my cats out from the unit. What do i do now? I have half a mind to send them to the local animal shelter but i love them. Also, are we allowed to keep pets in condo? I've seen other tenants with dogs.

A. Obviously you are allowed to have pets in your condo, as other tenants have had dogs and the security guard didn't inform you that you weren't allowed to have your cats. If you continue to be worried about this, check the contract that you signed. Don't send you cats to the animal shelter after one complaint, don't get rid of them unless you are told by a worker at the condo (other than a security guard that is simply passing something on and probably doesn't really knwo anything) that you are unable to keep them in your home any more. If you know that your cat could not get into his unit, then it isn't true. If you know who it was that lodged the complaint, talk to them. If you get another complaint, explain that it must be someone else' [cont.]
